Every person ages at a different rate and in different ways. Some develop redness, age or sun spots. Others have large pores, fine lines, wrinkles or lax skin. You may have one, two or all of these conditions. Cutera’s Pearl fusion takes a three-tiered approach to rejuvenating your skin for all of these conditions.

Laser Genesis with Pearl utilizes a laser to soften fine lines and wrinkles, shrink pores and decrease or eliminate redness found deeper in the epidermis. Laser Genesis has been proven to stimulate the creation of new collagen, giving your face a more youthful appearance.
Pearl Fractional resurfaces the skin, and refines pigmentation, acne scarring, open pores and background dyschomia, causes collagen lay-down and a noticeable uplifting of the skin.

Who can be treated?
Men and women of any age who wish to improve their skin can be treated. Skin which is lax, has surface wrinkles, redness, brown spots, or enlarged pores are the most common conditions to treat.

What areas can be treated?
The most popular areas for treatment are the face and neck, but other body parts such as the hands, arms and abdomen, are also frequently treated.

What do the treatments feel like?
Dr Caswell has developed a superior numbing cream, which makes this treatment pain free, walk in walk out, without the need for an anesthetic or facial blocks. Our aftercare protocol means you can recover at home, and in comfort.

There is 5 days social downtime, most people are able to return to work after this and are able to use any clinical coverage system stocked at Eyra, you may experience ongoing pinkness for another week or so. A general rule tends to be the older the person the longer the recovery time, however not beyond 10 days. If you have ever suffered from cold sores, Dr Caswell will prescribe the appropriate prophylactic medication to be started two days before treatment and continued until the skin has completely healed.

How many treatments will I need?
Generally one, however individuals with very badly sun damaged skin may require two treatments, your skin's improvement will last up to 10 years, however you will need to maintain your results with a home care regime and sunscreen to prevent the say photo-aging reoccurring. You will of course continue to age, and may be interested in dermal fillers or anti-wrinkle treatment to keep these signs of aging at bay. For those who already use these treatments we have found that the dose of anti-wrinkle treatment is generally reduced post Pearl Fusion.

Are there any side effects?
The most common side effect is a slight redness or mild swelling in the treated area that disappears within a few hours.

When will I see results?
Immediate results are observed by some patients, once the skin has healed. More typically, you will see results in two to four weeks and improvements will continue for several months. Dr Caswell will advise you ask to the best aftercare and skin maintenance regime to maximize your collagen rehabilitation.

How does Pearl Fusion compare with other laser treatments?
Most lasers treat only one or two aging conditions. They may diminish red or brown spots; they may just reduce lax skin. Only Pearl Fusion from Cutera addresses all of the most common conditions of aging – age spots, sun damage, fine lines, wrinkles and lax skin and rehabilitates lax collagen.
